Orange Shirt Day Design
Done in: 09.2025 / Customer: Sysco Canada / Task: Graphic Design
For this Orange Shirt Day design, created for Sysco Canada and produced by Red Rebel Armour, I focused on weaving symbols of Indigenous knowledge, resilience, and family into a cohesive visual story. At the center, a mother with braids embraces her child, representing love, connection, and the strength of relationships. Surrounding them, the turtle symbolizes truth, the Earth, and interconnectedness, while the four quadrants of its shell reflect the medicine wheel teachings. Pine trees, roots, and seeds emphasize the connection to land, ancestors, and future generations, and above, the moon, clouds, and seven stars honour the cycles of life and the Seven Grandfather Teachings. The design as a whole celebrates remembrance, healing, and the enduring presence of Indigenous knowledge, with family at its heart.
